Il mercato delle opere d’arte antica
La conferenza introdurrà gli studenti al mercato dell’arte antica occidentale, occupandosi delle tendenze dei prezzi e delle mode delle diverse tipologie di opere d’arte, dalle figurine preistoriche delle Cicladi e dalle statue egizie alle sculture e ai vasi greci e romani. Si parlerà anche dei problemi di “due diligence” riguardanti l’origine a la provenienza di oggetti archeologici in relazione al mercato.
The Market for Antiquities
This lecture will introduce students to the western antiquities art market, dealing with price trends and fashions for different types of antiquity, ranging from prehistoric Cycladic figurines, Egyptian statuary to Greek and Roman sculptures and vases. Issues of due diligence concerning the provenience and provenance of archaeological objects in relation to the market.
